What we have here is a one off Alan Folts custom folder. There are several cool features of this knife that really stand out. First, is the interesting sheepsfoot blade shape with a raised swedge made out of laminated steel. Even with a cool blade, it doesn't hurt to have a unique handle material as well. So, Alan put his Cir-Cut handle scales on this handsome midsize folder to create something really special. Brand new direct from Alan Folts.
The Blade: VG-10 Super Gold laminate steel creates a stronger blade and has been acid etched to reveal the layers. The Sheepsfoot blade shape is dominated by a raised swedge that drops back down before rising back up to create a raised thumb ramp. Strategically placed jimping on the ramp and on the bottom of the blade where the index finger sits gives the user control while cutting and inspires confidence.
The Handle: In today's knife industry, the FR-4 (G10) used for handle scales is actually most commonly used in everyday electrical circuit boards. Alan's take on this is his Cir-Cut scales with a unique circuit board pattern that is highly polished. It's also well built with titanium liners and screws yet lightweight and easy to carry with no effort. The nicely polished titanium liners are the backbone of the knife with one forming the lock. Smoothly finished scales reveal no pocket clip but a lanyard pin is included to tie on a lanyard.
