Brand new direct from maker Andre de Villiers we have the ADV Tactical Hummer Flipper with Carbon Fiber onlays. This flipper is large and in charge built for those who just aren’t getting enough knife out their folders. At around 9.5 inches overall, the Hummer has plenty to go around.
The Blade: Done in an upswept drop point-style with upper swedge grind, the premium blade offers around 4.25 inches of crazy sharp cutting power. Satin finished with a thumb hole window and integral notched flipper tab for deployment. It rockets out of its titanium home thanks to Andre’s roller bearings system at the pivot. This blade is great for slicing work, general utility and comes to a nice point for piercing tasks.
The Handle: It has to match the beefiness of the blade to balance things out, and that’s exactly what we have here. Thick titanium scales are heavily stonewashed for a very cool worn-in effect complete with raised carbon fiber onlays that add a comfortable feel. Finger grooves tell your hand just where to go the moment you pick it up. Very comfortable smooth, polished edges are right at home in the palm. Plenty of room left over for a gloved hand as well. The lockbar has a steel insert that doubles as an over travel stop while creating smooth, solid lock up.
An extra-long titanium back spacer brings this beast together. It has notching and a lanyard hole near the bottom. A heavy duty titanium pocket clip is attached for tip up carry. The ADV Hummer is right at the top of the large tactical folder category. This one comes in a zipper pouch.
