Details
The Kwaiken Flipper designed by maker Lucas Burnley has taken many forms over the past few years with each having it's own unique characteristics. This latest version known as the Duplex features a compound ground blade and smooth, contoured Black G10 handle scales.
The Blade: Right about 3.5 inches of razor sharp upswept pointy goodness on this piece. The Duplex or compound grinds offer dual cutting surfaces on both sides often only found on more expensive custom pieces. This one rides on ball bearing pivot system for some of the quickest opening action possible. The integral flipper tab is textured to give your index something to grab on to. Stunning satin finishes all around this one with some light tumbling on the flats. Simply gorgeous blade.
The Handle: Thick, tumbled stainless liners provide the base and balance on this folder. Lightening pockets have been cut out of the front one to keep the weight down. Black G10 handle scales have a smooth, light texture and are cut just a bit smaller than the liners for a cool two-tone appearance to the handle. Torx screw construction along with a short stainless backspacer bring the Kwaiken together.
The Kwaiken Duplex from Burnley and Boker has given a new definition to a smooth operating, slim every day carry folder. This one includes a single-position, removable tip up carry pocket clip and lanyard hole.
