The Tucan from Boker Germany is designed by Wilfried Gorski who is a member of the German Knife Makers Guild and known for his specially developed locking mechanisms. The Tucan is no different. This elegant gentleman's folder utilizes a special spring-loaded slide lock below the pivot to operate and hold the blade open/closed. You can't say it isn't interesting.
Brand new item direct from Boker Knives.
The Blade: A handy gentleman's drop point fashioned from super stainless Bohler N690 steel and given a two-toned finish. The bevels are hollow ground to a supremely keen edge, machine satin'd and then buffed to high polish. The flats were left with a raw kind of horizontal satin look/finish. Each is individually numbered on the back flat. The user opens the knife by first pulling down on the slide button under the pivot. This pops the blade ever so slightly out of the handle. The user then takes over manually by either pulling on the spine jimping or just thumbing the front flat of the blade. The slide also locks the blade when open, so it must be pulled on again to close the blade. Smooth as butter.
The Handle: Fully constructed from matte gray blasted titanium creating a classy, sleek look with high end carbon fiber inlays. It's slim, comfortable and easy on the eyes for sure. A titanium back spacer completes construction. The Tucan is intended to slide easily in and out of the pocket, therefore it does not come with a clip.
