Victorinox

"Victorinox Swiss Army brand knives have a legacy of over 125 years. Karl Elsener started the company in 1884 following an apprenticeship in Paris and South Germany. The first of his knives were made on grinding and polishing machines powered by a waterwheel. In 1921, stainless steel was invented and also known as “inox.” Karl combined this with his late mother’s name, Victoria, to create the company name Victorinox. The popularity of the “Swiss Officer’s Knife” grew tremendously in the United States following WWII. The American’s called the knife a “Swiss Army Knife” which stuck in all English speaking countries. As the company grew in popularity, their product line did as well adding luggage, fragrances, apparel, professional knives, watches, pocket tools and household knives.

The Victorinox Swiss Army knife has not lost popularity over the years. There are many versions of the knife from the Explorer to the Swiss Champ to the classic Soldier. Victorinox Swiss Army knives are designed to suit all needs and uses. Swiss Army knives use high quality Swiss stainless steel for their blades and tools and most feature durable cellidor handles."
