The Burger Knives EXK FL Titanium Framelock is an evolution of the original front flipper folder designed by Burger and Sons. With thick titanium handles and a workhorse M390 blade, the new EXK is thicker, heavier and overbuilt when compared to it's predecessors while remaining pocket friendly. Silky function and attention to fine details remind you this is a Burger custom knife. This knife is brand new, direct from maker and includes a Certificate of Origin.
The Blade: Made from M390 super steel, the blade has a utilitarian sheepsfoot styling that can combat a variety of tasks. Two-toned with bead-blasted grinds and satin flats, the blade not only looks good, but also operates smoothly while riding on caged ball bearings. Easily maneuvered front flipper with extra jimping allows for quick opening with either hand.
The Handle: Full titanium handles have been bead blasted and then blue/gray anodized for a modern appearance and excellent in-hand feel. Four milled lines add a nice touch of grippiness to the otherwise smooth handle. Backside of the handle forms reliable framelock with oversize pivot offering over-travel protection for the lockbar. Open construction reinforces the modern looks while also making it easy to clean. Stamped #004 inside of the handle near the lock mechanism. Custom milled titanium pocket clip attached for tip up, right hand carry only.
The Pouch: Includes a nylon Velcro closure pouch with soft fleece inside for carry or keeping.
About M390: Bohler M390 has become an extremely popular choice for high-end user grade knives thanks to its extreme edge retention. M390 also has a good corrosion resistance, meaning most users can avoid problems by simply wiping off their blade after each use. Another great feature of this steel is its ability to resist burr formation during sharpening. Comparable steels are CTS-204P and Duratech 20CV.
