Chris Reeve Small Inkosi S45VN Drop Point Titanium Frame Lock Folder

The Small Inkosi, which means Chief in Zulu, is the latest advancement in knife making technology from Chris Reeve Knives. This model lives up to that name with several improvements over past models made during the last 30 years of Chris Reeve production. This version comes with a stonewashed, S45VN drop point blade and blasted gray titanium handles.

Blade: Made from stonewashed CPM-S45VN the 2.75" drop point blade is made with CRK's Large Hollow Grind technology for added durability. The new grind is half-way between a flat grind and their standard hollow grind, gaining strength and retaining the proven sharpening longevity and slicing performance of the hollow grind. It also implements a strengthened pivot with a larger stop pin and oversized twin phosphor bronze washers with larger grease pockets (less surface area friction) for a smooth, hydraulic feel deploying via the standard double lugs. The washer diameter is wider than the blade, ensuring zero sideways play for a rock solid feel.

Handle: The full titanium frame has ergonomic finger grooves for a secure and ergonomic grip in the hand and the classic blasted matte gray finish that develops a unique patina from use and carry over time while offering a pleasing tactile feel in the hand. The ceramic ball lock face insert provides a lifetime of consistent lockup, while changes to the pocket clip eliminate pressure on the lock bar. Includes a microfiber cloth, small fluorinated grease tube, LocTite, Allen keys, information packet and installed black nylon lanyard.

Carries via a right hand, tip-up, titanium pocket clip.

CPM S45VN: An evolution in the S30-series of steels from Crucible, S45VN shows improved edge retention and corrosion resistance relative to S35VN a slight reduction in toughness. Also considered an upgrade to Elmax with similar edge retention but better hardness, corrosion resistance, toughness, and a finer carbide structure (better sharpness).
