The Daktyl Slide Lock light duty folder is a rejuvenated design based on maker Tom Hitchcock's Hole in One Model. It's funky, to say the least, but master its mechanism and declare yourself king of the lab.

Brand new product direct from CRKT.

The Blade: The blade itself is about two inches of sharpened sheepsfoot styling, quite sharp with a grey bead blast finish. It has some aesthetic lightening holes plus finger hole and choil to grip when in use. To operate, pull the slide lock lever on the top hinged portion of the handle back about .12 inches to unlock the blade. Now, the user is free to swing the blade open out the side of their choosing. To do so, press down on the slide lock lever (like the hammer of a gun) to release the blade and then pivot open. Once swung 180 degrees out in an arc, the slide lock will engage and catch the blade into cutting position quite solidly. A press of the lever in the open position unlocks the blade allowing it to swing closed.

The Handle: Once open, the skeleton handle is quite comfortable. It has a nice finger groove and curvature to fit snugly in the palm of your hand. It grips well in the closed position as well. The user may choose to push the slide lock back into the locked position, not allowing any movement of the blade, or at the ready position to open immediately.

The Daktyl carries via a carabiner clip built into the finger hole of the blade.
