Details
The Rakkasan is a tactical fixed blade designed by Austin McGlaun of Artificum Solis Bladeworks (also the designer of the well received Clever Girl fixed blade) for the Forged By War series from CRKT. McGlaun designed the Rakkasan for his fellow service members who are still deployed and need a tough and capable tool that can be relied upon in the most demanding of environments. Whether using this as a utilitarian cutting tool or a last-ditch defensive option, the Rakkasan will be there when you need it most.
The Blade: The Rakkasan has a purpose driven, Bowie style, recurve blade made from tough, SK5 High Carbon tool steel. The saber grind provides additional strength to the design for hard use tasks. The recurve design packs more cutting edge into a compact package and enhances performance in draw-type cuts. The blade is finished with a durable black powder coat for low reflectivity and long wear.
The Handle: Industry standard G10 handle scales are as tough as it gets. The combination of textured flats, contoured scallops, and an ergonomic design make the Rakkasan very secure in-hand in a variety of grip positions.
The Rakkasan carries via a Thermoplastic/PVC Sheath with a multi-carry Paracord setup.
