Coming soon, this knife is expected in fall 2016.
DPx Gear continues to innovate and move forward in both design and function with the new HEST/F Urban. Like its larger counterpart it feels good in the hand and absolutely begs to be used from the moment you take hold. This knife comes feature packed without being over-complicated or getting in the way, we like to think of its additional tools as being subtle improvements on already existing features in most common knives. Designed by Robert Young Pelton this knife is DPx Gear's first USA folder and comes with a full titanium frame and stonewashed blade.
The Blade: The HEST/F Urban has a pointy spear shaped blade with a flat grind and heavily tumbled finish. It stands apart from the crowd with a notch cut into the top of the blade that acts as a bottle opener, pot lifter and quick open feature. Another feature found only in the DPx line is the wire stripper jimping which provides good grip on top of the blade. The blade rides smoothly on caged ball bearings and comes decisively sharp right out of the box.
The Handle: One thing that struck us right away was how comfortable the HEST/F Urban was in the hand. It has a full titanium frame and a dual function hex driver lanyard hole which goes all the way through the handle. Lockup is rock solid and a replaceable lock face comes standard so there's no sticky titanium meeting the blade. A deep carry clip is attached via the glass breaker for a clean look.
