Details

The OFF-L Friction Folder from Ohta Knives features true Japanese craftsmanship with some of the finest materials on the planet. Mr. Hiroaki Ohta combines pleasing aesthetics with proper functionality in a way seldom found in the realm of friction folding knives. This knife is new direct from the maker.

The Blade: Every day functionality from this sheepfoot style plus incredible beauty from the San Mai damascus process. It has a premium VG-10 steel core for a dependable, crazy sharp polished cutting edge. The folds of blended steel create a strong backbone and a layered look unique to every piece. It rotates on a flush black pivot pin via an extended portion of the blade tang. This portion or lever extends about 3/4 of an inch out of the handle when closed. Simply pull the lever toward the back of the handle to open. Once open, apply pressure with your thumb on the spine to hold the blade "locked" in position.

The Handle: Gorgeous Desert Ironwood is the star of this show. Its swirling burls of light and dark brown tones are enough to get lost in. The wood scales are smoothed and contoured for a comfortable grip. They are pinned to carbon fiber liners that really show off the inside of the handle. A black micarta backspacer not only keeps it all together, but really ties into the whole design. Mr. Ohta has attached a black leather lanyard at the end of the handle.

The OFF-L ships in a black leather sheath with hard plastic insert. It has black paracord with a carved wood bead attached for neck carry.
