Brand New from maker Jonathan Mcnees custom Skybolt Flipper featuring a two-tone sculpted Titanium frame lock handle and Compound Ground blade. The Skybolt is a large folder that is well-balanced and lightweight for its size. It flips like a dream and has strong, early lockup.
The Blade: Four inches of hollow compound ground CPM-154 stainless super edge retaining steel here formed to a modified spear point style. As with Jon's knives, it is quite sharp right out of the pouch. The grinds, including upper swedge, have a dark acid washed finish with horizontal satin flats. There is a large scoop cutout on the dark washed spine that will fit your entire thumb. Perfect for choking up during detailed cutting tasks. There is also an inverted, short thumb ramp with light jimping. This beast deploys via a notched, integral flipper tab exposed from the back of the handle. It rides on an internal bearing system with exceptional detent for silky smooth action.
The Handle: Two ergonomic slabs of titanium with custom dimpled texturing on the front slab and lockbar. The bottom textured portion of the front slab is bronze anodized to match the frame lock side. Three hole cutouts help lighten the load. The titanium is accented with a dimpled copper backspacer and pivot collar. The copper will patina over time for a unique look. At the center of the collar is a textured pivot head.
The Skybolt Flipper includes a tip-up carry titanium pocket clip, signed specs card/business card from the maker with Mcnees Velcro pouch. Lots of Custom features in this one for a true one-of-a-kind piece.
