The latest collaborative effort between Ka-Bar Knives and maker Jesse Jarosz tackles Mr. Jarosz's Pulsar folder design. This new Tanto Point folder from Ka-Bar is an excellent representation of Jesse's custom model. It's a solid medium-large build with tactical intent in a convenient, every day carry package.
The Blade: Purposeful 3.5 inches of piercing tanto point power for every day chores and then some. Since it's meant for use and abuse, Ka-Bar stonewashed the blade fully as not to show wear as easily as other finishes. Toughness was a big factor in the hollow ground design giving way to lengthy flats that contain ambidextrous thumb studs for ready-when-you-need-it blade deployment.
The Handle: Black GFN handle scales are contoured like Jesse's custom model for comfort during prolonged cutting tasks. The ergonomics create a grip that's solid and safe with a pronounced front scoop to keep your hand out of harm's way. Full length liners provide the solid part with one forming the dependable lockup. Whether you need to carry on your pack or on your person Ka-Bar has you covered with a clip that can be reversed for tip up or down carry. It's practical and proudly displays Mr. Jarosz's insignia. A convenient lanyard bar is inserted into the backspacer.
The 7506 Tanto Point Jarosz Folder from Ka-Bar knives is built with purpose and factory new.
AUS-8A Steel is a high carbon, low chromium stainless steel produced by Aichi Steel Corporation, Japan. We've found it to have an excellent balance between toughness and strength. It offers good corrosion resistance and is capable of acquiring a razor sharp edge. It typically dulls faster than S30V, but has better edge retention than 440C. Sharpening should be a breeze. The "A" signifies that AUS-8 steel has been annealed after the steel has been cold rolled to relieve stress prior to heat treatment.
