The Mike Irie UC-1 (Urban Carry Model 1) is a medium sized fixed knife that can be carried everyday. Harpoon shaped blade is versatile enough to be used in a hunting scenario or carried for self defense. It's classy satin finish doesn't scream tactical for a less intimidating approach. As with all of Mike's work, the knife has excellent fit and finish. Brand new direct from maker.
The Blade: Hand rubbed satin finished recurved blade features a thumb ramp with jimping. Great to take on a hunting trip as the hollow grind works well for skinning or field dressing. For additional versatility, the combined flat spine of the blade and choil allow the user to choke up and do fine detailed cutting. High quality stainless steel construction keeps the knife virtually maintenance free yet still keeps a good edge.
The handle: Two tone G10 scales are secured to the full tang via three hollow pins which also allow for attaching a lanyard. Both sides have been polished and radiused to give the knife an attractive appearance. The ergonomically friendly handle curves down slightly and falls right into the palm swell. To keep the knife secure, pronounced finger grooves have been cut into the tang to create a guard and keep the hand from slipping forward or off of the handle.
The Sheath: Three layer form fitted Kydex sheath has been riveted together to form an integral belt loop for carry. Open rivets allow bolting on a mounting system or lashing to another object. For an added touch, the front of the sheath has a carbon fiber texture for a unique look.
