Mora of Sweden is well known for producing affordable fixed blades which have often been found to meet or beat some of the higher priced knives on the market. With the Morakniv Eldris they have taken this winning formula and applied it to a smaller, pocket friendly fixed blade which can alternatively be worn around the neck. This knife has all the bushcraft features you love in a tiny little package. Comes with a blue polymer handle, matching pocket sheath, neck cord, fire starter and leather sheath strap.
The Blade: The Eldris has a small but practical blade design, complete with scandi grind and a thinner secondary grind towards the tip. This makes the knife an ideal candidate for smaller chores while retaining strength in the "meat" of the blade. It is made from Swedish stainless steel, comes extremely sharp and will hold a pretty good edge over longer periods of use.
The Handle: A familiar polymer handle is present on the Eldris, the same material used on the majority of the Morakniv line. It has a comfortable rounded handle with a diamond pattern in the center and will provide good traction without any hot spots when used for an extended time. The end of the handle has a hole for attaching your favorite lanyard.
The Sheath: Like most things Mora, the sheath has been kept extremely simple on the Eldris. It is made of the same rugged polymer as the handle and has a drain hole in the bottom to keep water away from the blade. This version of the knife also comes with a leather safety strap which provides additional security when worn around the users neck with the supplied cord.
