RAT Cutlery has been in business since 1997 as they originally trained military, law enforcement, and civilians in jungle survival. During their survival classes, RAT found there was not a knife which could weather all survival situations. After designing the RTAK, Randall’s Adventures and Training licensed the design to Ontario Knife Company. After their contract with Ontario ended, RAT Cutlery decided to produce their own knives in order to provide a “mid-tech” knife.
