The next high-quality production piece from Rike Knife is the 1508s Integral Frame Lock Flipper. This is the ultimate in sleek, solid design.
The Blade: Bead-blast finished premium M390 super stainless steel is thick and given a high flat grind. Around 3.25 inches of cutting edge on this one done in a classic utility drop point style. An upper swedge is ground near the small flats on each side with intricately jimped thumb ramp on top. It deploys via a slightly notched flipper tab and cruises out of the handle on bearings. Each blade is individually numbered on the front near the flipper.
The Handle: Composed of a single piece of solid Titanium and green anodized. This is no easy task and Rike has done it to perfection. Built with precision and given light texturing around the edges creating a comfortable grip. The frame lockbar has a steel insert creating smooth and easy lockup. It works in tandem with a blue pivot collar on the lock side creating a lockbar overtravel prevention system. Four machined holes are cut from the bottom third of the spine with the fourth creating a lanyard hole that sticks out the butt end of the handle.
The 1508s integral flipper makes an ideal every day carry. The weight and balance are just right, action is on point and there's plenty of blade to handle most tasks. Even with it's slender, pocket-friendly design it's rock solid integral build provides confidence in taking a beating.
