Details

The Thorn Gen2 is a midtech slipjoint folder designed by Serge Panchenko and produced in the USA. This mid-tech design is non-locking, with the blade held both open and closed by the ball bearing detent embedded in the titanium frame. The Thorn's Wharncliffe blade opens smooth and easy left or right handed and it fits perfectly in the fifth pocket of most jeans.

This item is brand new direct from Serge Knives.

The Blade:  The Thorn's CPM-154 Wharncliffe blade opens quickly via an oval cutout and has an and etched and tumbled finish for an "antique" look. The blade design provides a razor sharp edge and point that make this a perfect EDC cutting tool for light tasks.

The Handle:  Precision machined Brass has an antiqued, dark tumbled finish with lightening holes and the SP Logo on the front. Open construction with a single bronze anodized titanium standoff makes for a simple and easy to maintain design. Titanium hardware and an attached titanium pocket clip for right-handed tip-up carry complete the Thorn Gen2.

About Midtech Knives: Thorn Gen2’s are midtechs, with parts made by Millit Knives in Idaho, and all finish work, antiquing, assembly, sharpening and fine tuning done by Serge Panchenko.

About CPM-154: A Particle Metallurgy version of American 154CM, this steel has a good combination of edge retention and ease of sharpening with added toughness and corrosion resistance thanks to the CPM process. A great all around blade steel favored by many customer makers. Very similar to RWL34 in performance.
