The Model 15 from Sergey Rogovets is truly a work of art. It's hard to know where to start with this one as it has so many outstanding features. The best place to start might be with the thick titanium frame that has been milled to give it a riveted steel plate appearance. The bronze anodizing has been worn slightly away and a second anodizing gives the frame added depth with the grooves alternating from blue to purple depending on the viewing angle. The lock bar has been cut out of the lower frame and has an attached D2 steel lock face and a ceramic detent ball. A matching milled titanium pocket clip lines up with the steel plate pattern and visually disappears into the frame. Moving on to the XHP wharncliffe blade, a brass lined insert has been added to the flat ground perfectly straight edge wharncliffe blade and given a hand rubbed satin finish. An engine turned pivot screw secures the dual caged ball bearings which provides effortless deployment of the blade. Extra attention was paid to centering of the blade and delivering a smooth action. Brass standoffs and titanium hardware complete the knife. This Model 15 is inscribed on the inside of the frame with Sergey's signature, date and serial number 1554. Also included is a signed and serialized Pelican 1120 waterproof case. Brand new direct from maker Sergey Rogovets.
About CTS-XHP: An alloy steel made by Carpenter, CTS-XHP was developed as a corrosion resistant D2 alternative. Our research shows users estimating edge retention slightly ahead of S30V, and toughness comparable to D2. This makes CTS-XHP a premium steel, which should hold a great edge and be reasonably corrosion resistant.
