Kevin Smock has modded a Spyderco Southard Flipper and created a customized Mini Southard. This is not your typical scale swap mod here. The knife has been transformed into a great EDC with a blade overhaul and reduced handle length. The blade has been shortened and profiled to a more pronounced sheepsfoot shape. Also, the original bump along the top of the blade was removed then rounded before receiving a acid wash finish. Kevin kept the pocket clip position of the original but shortened the handle just after the second standoff. This kept the same basic shape of the original design and makes his “Mini” version look factory. Kevin also blue anodized the frame and topped it with a contoured Uni Directional carbon fiber scale. This unique type of carbon fiber has all of the fibers running one way so that it reflects light for a cool effect. One last subtle change was the slight rounding of the original pocket clip to remove the sharp pointed end. Customized Spyderco Brad Southard Flipper by Kevin Smock of Smock Knives.
**Modifications made to the original Southard flipper voids the factory warranty.**
