SOG originally stood for Studies and Observation Group, an elite US military group which performed secret covert operations during the Vietnam War. It is in the spirit of this group that SOG Specialty Knives and Tools were born. SOG has been creating distinctive fixed blade knives, folding knives and multitools for over twenty years. Founder and chief designer, Spencer Frazer, insures SOG is one of the top innovators in the cutlery industry.
SOG is one of the first knife manufacturers to be closely associated with technology and a modern image. Innovations which made them famous include the AutoClip, Arc-Loc, SwitchPlier and the many knives in their assisted opening line.
