Spyderco Advocate CQI Titanium Flipper M4 Steel C214TIP

The Spyderco Advocate designed by Gayle Bradley is his first flipper folder. As a veteran competitive cutting champion, Gayle knows his way around a blade and now his attention has turned towards a tactical knife.

The Blade: Full flat ground drop point blade with machine satin finish. Dual operation from either the Spyderco trademark thumb hole or integral flipper. Super tough and wear resistant M4 tool steel blade rides on super smooth ball bearing pivot washers*.

*CQI Pivot: This is the new Constant Quality Improvement bearing pivot. It features thicker steel washers and larger ball bearings seated in a phosphor bronze housing for smoother operation and more robust construction.

The Handle: Radiused and machined 3D Titanium frame with unique orange peel texture. The blade locks solidly open with a stainless steel interfaced RIL (Reeve Integral Lock) mechanism formed from a full slab of titanium which also forms the back of the handle. Easy to maintain and clean with it's open back construction and easy to carry with reversible tip up carry pocket clip.

About CPM-M4: M4 is a Molybdenum High Speed Tool Steels. It has a relatively high 1.3% carbon content for high hardness and excellent wear resistance. It offers better wear resistance and toughness than M2 or M3 alloys. Remember, however, that M4 is a tool steel - NOT a stainless - and must be wiped down/oiled after use to avoid corrosion.
