Designed as a personal defense knife by U.S. Army combat veteran John Shirley and his friend Sam Owens, the ARK (Always Ready Knife) is meant to be a small footprint, go-anywhere, neck knife that can be carried close to the body and used anywhere. The ARK carries via an injection molded sheath and included stainless steel ball chain. The Blade: The H1 blade steel makes the ARK fully corrosion resistant and the fully serrated SpyderEdge blade packs up to 24% more cutting surface into the blade. The blade has a fine, piercing point and sweeping blade that gives plenty of cutting edge for slicing tasks.

The Handle: The Black FRN handle is tough and lightweight and with Spyderco's bi-directional texturing feels secure in the hand . A deep index finger choil and contoured lines increase the security in-hand, even under the most strenuous situations.

About H1 Steel: H1 is a nitrogen based stainless steel wherein the nitrogen replaces the carbon usual present in steel for hardening. The substitution of nitrogen in H1 makes this steel essentially corrosion proof.
