Reviving the groundbreaking design of Master at Arms James Keating, the Chinook 4 brings the classic American Bowie design into the world of contemporary folding knives. This iteration has been refined into a sleeker profile while still retaining the dramatic, sweeping clip point the Bowie is known for as well as the Chinook's signature "Bracketed" handle. The Chinook 4 is a powerfully built folder with all the point, belly, and cutting edge you need for the most demanding cutting tasks.
The Blade: CPM S30V has a solid combination of corrosion resistance, edge holding, and toughness that have made it a staple in the Spyderco line. A satin finished full-flat grind gives this blade excellent slicing performance and the sweeping clip point gives it remarkable piercing power. The Chinook 4 opens via the Spyderco Round Hole™.
The Handle: The scales are made from textured Black G10, an industrial fiber glass composite laminate, which is tough, lightweight and nearly impervious to decomposition and moisture. The scales are attached to skeletonized stainless steel liners which help to reduce weight while maintaining a high level of strength. The the Chinook's signature "Bracketed" handle provides a very secure grip even during rigorous use. The PowerLock ™ combines the simplicity of a back lock with the additional strength of a rotating cam arm that contacts the tang to lock the blade open. This is a smooth yet powerful locking mechanism. The Chinook 4 carries via a reversible, stainless steel, tip-up pocket clip making this knife fully ambidextrous.
