Details

The Hundred Pacer, designed by Taiwanese knife enthusiast Johnny Liao, was styled after the deadly Taiwanese Viper that bears the same common name. The scales of the Hundred Pacer are milled to give it a similar look to the banding and scales of a snake while the long swept-point blade is like a steel fang ready to strike. Brand new and direct from Spyderco Knives Inc.

The Blade: With nearly 4 inches of razor sharp, full flat grind, CTS XHP, the Hundred Pacer is fully prepared for some serious slicing. The broad blade paired with the flat grind and sweeping point give this knife a fine, piercing point with plenty of steel to reinforce it for serious use. The trademark Round Hold offers smooth, ambidextrous opening.

The Handle: Skeletonized, nested liners and an open back construction help keep this knife at an EDC-able weight of 5.2 oz, relatively light for a knife of this size. One of the stainless liners also forms the robust and functional liner lock mechanism. Brown and Tan layered G10 has been milled to create snakeskin patterned scales that are both visually striking and non-slip textured. The knife carries via an ambidextrous, stainless steel wire pocket clip and features an oval lanyard hole.

About CTS-XHP: An ultra-high-carbon stainless steel that combines the exceptional corrosion resistance of 440C and wear resistance similar to D2. Thanks to the unique composition and its ability to attain a high hardness, CTS XHP has edge retention somewhere between S30V and ZDP 189. An excellent choice for any knife that is going to see a lot of use.
