About CPM-S110V Stainless Steel: CPM-S110V is produced by Crucible Industries in New York state using the Crucible Particle Mettalurgy (CPM) process. The CPM process creates a very fine grained and dense steel with a uniform structure. CPM-S110V is considered a super stainless steel offering some of the best edge retention and wear resistance available as it contains a high volume of vanadium carbides. The steel will hold an edge far longer than other stainless offerings, but can also be a bear to sharpen for a novice.
