Spyderco Native 5 Lightweight Gray FRN Maxamet C41PGY5

The latest addition to the Spyderco Native 5 family is a brand new Lightweight version with a Stone Gray FRN handle and premium Micro-Melt Maxamet blade steel. The Native 5 is long heralded for it's size, shape and userability. It makes a fantastic EDC for those new to pocket knives and the life-long user alike. 

Blade: Done in a spear point-style with slight upper swedge grind for all-around utility. It is tumble finished and features a full flat grind. Jimping on the spine and front choil make gripping the Native a pleasure. Familiar ambidextrous Spyderco Round Hole opener is good sized to accommodate even larger thumbs. High speed tool steel blade ground to a very sharp cutting edge that will provide some of the best edge retention and toughness on the market.

Handle: Fiberglass reinforced nylon is a very tough, durable material. It makes the overall knife a lightweight for a reason. It won't weigh you down nor let you down. This one has Spyderco's latest coloring of Stone Gray with their Trademarked Bi-Directional texturing for a sure grip. The Native 5 has a lock back mechanism. It's very strong, easy to use and workable by righties and lefties.

Maxamet Steel: Produced by Carpenter as a high speed tool steel, Maxamet offers extremely high wear resistance and toughness with a high hardness level. Early tests from the Spyderco forum put this steel in a league with CPM-110V for edge retention.
