Eric and Sal Glesser designed the Spyderco Para 3 to meet demand for a smaller size of one of their most popular USA made models, the ParaMilitary 2. The Para 3 offers many of the same features in a more compact, sub-3” blade design. A great size for EDC in the field or office, this compression lock folder is small but mighty, able to handle your daily cutting tasks with ease. This version comes with a black DLC coated, plain S45VN blade and digicam G10 handle scales.

CQI: Constant Quality Improvement — All black liners, Updated to CPM-S45VN

Blade: Fully flat ground CPM-S45VN comes in an iconic straight spine clip point profile with a plain edge for clean slicing performance. Durable black DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating resists wear and corrosion while being discreet in use. The blade opens via the ambidextrous large trademark RoundHole riding smooth on the durable bronze washers. Jimping at the thumb rest and index finger choil allow for superb control for fine tasks. 

Handle: Peel ply textured, chamfered digicam G10 scales house inset black skeletonized stainless liners, one forming the Compression Lock mechanism. A generous palm swell, index groove and pinky hook offer comfortable ergonomics and a secure grip for most users.

Carries via a four position stainless-steel hourglass clip.

CPM-S45VN: An evolution in Crucible's S30-series, S45VN shows improved edge retention and corrosion resistance relative to S35VN and offers an upgrade to Elmax with better hardness, corrosion resistance, toughness, and sharpness with similar edge retention.

Compression Lock: Similar in construction to the Walker Liner Lock, the Compression lock uses a leaf style spring cut into the handle liner. The tang of the spring wedges between the blade tang and stop pin (or anvil pin) for exceptional lock strength, ease of operation and added safety, keeping fingers clear of the blade path during disengagement closing of the knife.
