A direct evolution of the classic Spyderco Native, the Shaman is an elevation of this design to a higher plain of form and function. The Shaman is larger and more robust than the Native, with a high height Saber grind and just over 3 inches of fully serrated, SpyderEdge cutting edge. Open back, Compression lock construction and a fully contoured, matte G10 handle round out this elegantly functional folder. Brand new and direct from the Spyderco Knives Golden, Colorado facility and proudly Made in the USA.

The Blade: A fully serrated SpyderEdge, stonewash high-height saber grind on the CPM S30V blade enhances the toughness of the blade while still providing aggressive slicing performance, especially on fibrous material like rope or line. Jimping at the spine and index finger choil provide enhanced control for fine work. The Shaman opens smoothly via the ambidextrous, trademark SpyderHole. This is a time tested blade design beefed up for heavier use.

The Handle: Made from fully contoured matte finished G10, the Shaman's handles were designed with extended use in mind. You aren't going to find any hot spots or roughness on this handle. While the scales aren't textured the ergonomic design more than makes up for it providing a very secure in-hand feel. The tapered end, mid swell, and index finger choil all work together to lock the Shaman into the hand. Built on nested, skeletonized stainless steel liners, this knife features the Compression lock mechanism which is smooth, easy to operate, and rock solid for secure use. The Shaman carries via a 4-Position, stonewashed steel hourglass clip for ambidextrous carry.

CPM S30V is a hard form of steel crystalline structure stainless steel designed to offer and excellent combination of toughness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance. Its chemistry has been specially balanced to promote the formation of vanadium carbides which are harder and more effective than chromium carbides in providing wear resistance.
