Blade: The leaf-shaped, drop point, CPM S30V blade is fully flat ground making this knife an excellent slicer and the point tapers to a fine tip for piercing. Spyderco knows how to make a blade that cuts. The SpyderHole is set low in the blade allowing for a slim profile while still retaining the option for opening via the SpyderHole or the integral index flipper which also acts as an index finger guard. It flows smoothly on a ball bearings pivot system. The blade is also canted down from the handle to transfer more power to the blade while cutting.

Handle: The blade is swallowed by Peel-ply Carbon Fiber/ G10 laminate handle scales that are mounted over inset, skeletonized stainless steel liners in an open back construction. One of the stainless liners is used for the Compression lock which is smooth and simple to operate while providing rock solid security. This is a winning combination of traction, light weight, durability, and style. The handles are designed with a large index finger contour that keeps the footprint of the closed knife very small while also allowing access to the SpyderHole for opening. The Sliverax carries via an ambidextrous, tip-up, stainless steel wire clip that offers secure and discreet in-pocket carry.

About CPM-S30V: A hard form of steel crystalline structure stainless steel designed to offer and excellent combination of toughness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance. Its chemistry has been specially balanced to promote the formation of vanadium carbides which are harder and more effective than chromium carbides in providing wear resistance.
