Details

The #54 pattern Tidioute folder from Great Eastern is aptly named the Big Jack. It's just that, a big traditional hard working pocket knife. This two-blade design is built for much harder use than every day. Whether on your land or at your camp site, it has strong back springs to work hard for you. This is a Beaver Tail version outfitted with brilliant Jigged Brazilian Cherry Wood handle scales.

Brand new item directly from Great Eastern Cutlery.

The Blades: The regular clip and spear blades on the Big Jack are super cool because they open from the same bolster, yet are accessed on different sides. The clip opens on the show side while the spear opens from the back. You have a cutting option no matter how you pick it up or pull it out of your pocket/pack. They're both crafted from easy sharpening 1095 carbon steel and given a machine satin finish. The clip has a clever Beaver Tail engraving on the front defining the "show" side. Both feature half stop operation and should come in handy in a variety of situations.

The Handle: Familiar GEC flawless construction on the #54. Brass liners and pins with polished nickel silver bolsters and Beaver Shield. The Brazilian Cherry Wood is the star of this show with its rugged, earth-tone graininess. It looks like you couldn't possibly hurt it. GEC decided to Jig these providing a textured grip while operating and adding a nice overall finish to the wood.

The #54 Big Jack in Cherry Wood is one sweet piece suitable for tough jobs or standing out in a collection.
