Details

The Warren Osborne designed Contego takes the iconic reverse Tanto of his everyday carry 940 model and delivers it in a robust tactical platform. The fixed blade version utilizes the same CPM-S30V blade steel in a reliable full tang construction with contoured, low-profile G10 handle scales for modern performance and comfort. This version comes with a black coated, plain edge blade and black G10 handle scales.

Brand new, direct from Benchmade Knives, USA.

Blade: Full tang S30V is delivered in a robust reverse Tanto with high saber grind for good slicing while retaining good toughness. A generous thumb scoop on the spine of the blade provides a comfortable platform for generating added leverage for powerful cuts. The black coated blade is non-reflective for discreet use while enhancing corrosion resistance and hiding wear from use.

Handle: Contoured black G10 scales are supported by the full tang construction with the tang sitting proud to the scales for a more contoured feel while retaining a low-drag profile for carry. Deep cutouts for the fingers deliver a secure grip with optimal leverage for heavy use. Strategic jimping adds traction and safety paired with the pronounced thumb ramp.

Sheath: Carries via a MOLLE compatible molded polymer sheath with adjustable retention.

CPM-S30V: A powdered stainless steel with high levels of edge retention and corrosion resistance S30V was developed specifically for use in knife blades. The powdered process gives it a very refined grain, improving the sharpness and toughness. S30V is a great, all around steel with high levels of performance.
