Details
Everything you love about the original 318-1 Proper complete with an infamous Tom Krein regrind. This knife has been an instant favorite around the shop, so when we were approached by Tom about doing a handful with his thinner profile regrind we jumped at the chance.
Comes in the original Benchmade box with all packaging included direct from Tom's shop in Arkansas, USA.
About the 318-1 Proper Clip Point: A very useful clip point style on the 318-1 crafted from edge retaining CPM S30V stainless steel and given a classic satin finish. The length comes in just under three inches featuring a plain cutting edge and simple nail nick opener towards the end of the front flat. The modern touches include an upper swedge grind and a jimped thumb ramp for a bit more control. This is a non-locking blade that's held open and closed with a strong backspring. A useful, comfortable contoured construction with this piece built from stainless liners and attractive red G10 scales. All is secured using torx screws with a nice lanyard hole at the end allowing the user to apply his or her own personal touch to the knife.
About the Tom Krein Regrind: For a number of years knifemaker Tom Krein has been performing his regrind mod on users knives. This leaves a slightly thinner blade profile resulting in a knife which will slice much better than the original factory version. Although there is an additional cost involved, we think it's well worth it given the additional cutting performance.Specifications
