Benchmade Knives 318-2 Proper Tom Krein Regrind S90V Clip Point Carbon Fiber Slip Joint Folder

The Benchmade Proper 318-2 is a modern, clip point slip joint perfect for everyday carry and upgraded with modern materials and a world renowned Tom Krein Regrind for enhanced slicing performance. The 318-2 comes with Carbon Fiber handle scales and high performance, American CPM S90V blade steel.

Comes in the original Benchmade box with all packaging included direct from Tom's shop in Arkansas, USA.

Blade: The Clip Point blade of the 318-2 is made from high performance CPM S90V stainless steel enhanced with a satin finished full flat grind from Tom Krein. The flat grind is optimized for premium cutting performance with a laser thin edge in addition to excellent corrosion resistance and edge retention.The opening of the slip joint blade is easily achieved utilizing either a pinch grip on the spine or the generous nail nick on the blade.

Handle: The ergonomically contoured handles are made from tough, lightweight and good looking Carbon Fiber for added style. The scales are supported by bronze colored, PVD coated stainless steel liners for a solid platform. The construction is completed using black Torx screws with a nice lanyard hole at the end allowing the user to apply his or her own personal touch to the knife. 

The 318-2 Proper does not include a pocket clip.

CPM-S90V: A unique tool steel made using the Crucible Particle Metallurgy process, CPM S90V offers substantial improvements in edge retention over 440C and D2, and other high chromium steels, with corrosion resistance equal to or better than 440C. S90V is an excellent choice where wear and corrosion resistance are key.

Tom Krein's Regrind: For a number of years knife maker Tom Krein has been performing his regrind mod on users knives. This leaves a slightly thinner blade profile resulting in a knife which will slice much better than the original factory version. Although there is an additional cost involved, we think it's well worth it given the additional cutting performance.
