Blade: The drop point blade of CPM S30V offers upgraded edge retention over the original Triage while still maintaining a high level of corrosion resistance and toughness for worry-free use. The Tactical Triage sports a swedge running nearly the full length of the spine and ending in a fine point for piercing when the situation requires. A high height saber grind provides a good combination of strength and slicing performance and the black coating offers a discreet, non-reflective and corrosion-resistant finish. Dual thumb studs paired with phosphor bronze washers and the AXIS lock mechanism for fast, smooth, ambidextrous deployment even with gloves on.

Handle: The 917BK-1901 offers milled and contoured G10 scales over stainless steel liners for a rock-solid platform that offers a comfortable and secure grip with enhanced traction when wearing gloves. The liners house the ambidextrous AXIS lock mechanism for reliable security under stress as well as a 440C folding rescue hook that zips through clothes, boots, and webbing along with a carbide glass breaker tip providing access when the seconds count. The grip is further enhanced by strategically placed jimping and a forward finger choil for added security.

Carries via a Reversible (tip-up), deep-carry stainless steel clip with black oxide finish.

CPM S30V: A martensitic, powdered stainless steel with high levels of wear and corrosion resistance. Its chemistry promotes the formation and even distribution of vanadium carbides, which are harder and more effective at cutting than chromium carbides. This gives it a very refined grain, further improving the sharpness and toughness. S30V is a great, all-around steel with high levels of performance.
