Benchmade G10 Griptilian 551BK-1 Plain BK1 Coated CPM-20CV

The Benchmade G10 Griptilian BK1 Coated CPM20V has received both a handle and steel upgrade over the original Grips.  Boasting a gray G10 handle with blue G10 accents, the handle is both good looking and tough.  Premium stainless steel blade has black non-reflective coating and plain edge which compliments the gray/blue handle and lends itself to a large variety of everyday uses.  Brand new directly from Benchmade Knife Co.

The Blade: Composed of CPM20CV, the blade has been ground to a modified drop point with plain edge and then black BK1 coated. The coating not only lends the knife a more tactical appearance, but also protects the raw steel from undesirable elements.  Excellent edge retention, toughness and corrosion resistance are the stand-outs of this steel.  Dual thumb studs allow for deployment of the blade in quick fashion and the Axis lock holds it firmly in place when opened.  

The Handle: While the upgraded blade will surely enthuse both collectors and users, the handle is the first of it's kind as well featuring the well-known diamond texturing for grip and comfort.  The simple ergonomics are the same as the original large Grip with only about an ounce of added weight from the G10 upgrade.  Gray G10 forms the outer with blue G10 accents and partial stainless liners to house the lock mechanism.  Open barrel spacer construction will provide for easy cleaning and good looks as well.  Handle size and mechanism functions lend themselves excellently for working in gloves when necessary.

Attached stainless steel deep carry clip can be reversed for right or left handed tip up carry making this knife truly ambidextrous.  

About CPM-20CV: A highly wear resistant, powder metallurgy stainless tool steel, the steel contains a large volume of extremely hard vanadium carbides which provide excellent wear resistance. CPM-20CV contains the highest amount of chromium of any high-vanadium stainless steel currently available. The chromium-rich matrix provides outstanding corrosion resistance.
