Designed by Legacy Employee David Yellowhorse, a 30-year veteran of Buck Knives, the classic Vanguard big game hunting knife is now being produced in a premium, Legacy edition collectors' run. The beefy drop point blade is made from Paul Bos heat treated 420HC stainless steel with mirror polished finish and arrow head cutout while the hidden tang handle consists of polished Jasper, Turquoise, Jet and nickel silver capped with polished and textured nickel silver at the guard and pommel and a matching 'Eagle Feather' shield inlay. This Vanguard Legacy is a numbered, ultra-limited production of 100 pieces. Made in the USA and backed by the Buck "Forever" Warranty.

Blade: The blade is made from mirror polished, BOS Heat Treated 420HC, for a beautiful and maintenance free blade. A thick blade stock keeps the Vanguard durable while the deep hollow grind makes this knife an exceptional slicer, should you choose to use it. An arrowhead cutout adores the blade, matching the Native American motif. The front of the blade has the standard Buck markings while the back of the blade is laser etched "Limited Edition", number of 100 with the blade steel and Bos Heat Treat logo.

Handle: The robust, contoured handle of the Vanguard Legacy is elevated to a work of art by designer David Yellowhorse. The nickel silver pommel and guard have a juxtaposing polished/hammer textured geometric pattern. Making up the main body of the handle is a large piece of polished Bloody Jasper inlaid with the 'Eagle Feather' shield. The rest of the handle consists of Jet and Turquoise 'bolsters' with polished nickel silver spacers for a striking look you will want to display.

Bos Heat Treated 420HC Stainless Steel: 420HC is a stainless steel that provides excellent rust resistance, ease of re-sharpening and moderate edge retention while being exceptionally tough for a stainless steel. With the Bos heat treat it is said to preform similarly to VG-10 in wear resistance.
