The Blade: The upswept skinner profile and thick full tang is dependable for shaving sharp performance every time. With it being Buck's famous heat treated 420HC steel, it will be easy to re-sharpen after use. It has a gorgeous satin finish with a hollow grind and slight upper swedge to reinforce the tip. This blade shape is not only excellent for skinning game, but also great for just about any slicing and piercing chores. There is a handy forward choil just past the guard for choking up on detailed skinning or cutting tasks. Quite impressive blade shape for the Kalinga.
The Handle: Beautiful rosewood handle scales are pinned to the tang with brass pins and offer an ergonomic finger grooved grip. The steel and scales are quite thick filling the hand nicely. A classic brass finger guard is at the forefront constantly watching out for your digits. A tapered butt end works well in the forward and reverse grip.
The 401 Kalinga ships in a Genuine Leather belt sheath with hard insert and button closure.
