Buck Knives Marksman Tanto Flipper Black Oxide Wash 831
Details
The next generation of the Marksman from Buck Knives and collaborators Grant and Gavin Hawk has stepped up with a wicked American-styled Tanto blade. The action on this knife is outstanding. Smooth, easy and crisp lockup. All the key features of a great flipper. The Marksman Tanto is well-balanced, lightweight and scary sharp.
The Blade: 3.50 inches of raw cutting, tanto piercing power here. American 154CM stainless steel has been BOS Heat Treated and black oxide coated before hitting the tumbler. It has a nice upper swedge lightening cutout and thumb hole window which can be used to deploy the blade, but the flipper really makes it fly. It rides on a super fast ball bearing pivot and locks up on the top with the Hawk's SLS Strong Lock System. A handle spine lockbar catches and locks on to the blade tang when it is deployed. This bar holds the blade in-check until you lift up on the textured part of the lockbar near where your thumb would rest. This process can be done with one hand.
The Handle: Two thick slabs of anodized black aluminum with cross-section cutouts adding texture to the grip. It's quite comfortable in hand and is a great medium-large sized carry perfect for every day or tactical use.
The Marksman Tanto is a very well-made USA design with a unique locking mechanism. It includes a deep carry removable, reversible black pocket clip making the Marksman a true ambidextrous carry option.
