Building off the field tested materials of the Compadre series, the new Ground Combat Knives or GCK Series offers Cerakote coated 5160 Spring Steel blades and G10 or Micarta handles in a design that is specific to survival and defense in extreme situations. This Hawkbill version comes with a Sniper Grey Cerakote finished blade with matching hardware and milled and contoured Black G10 handle scales.

Blade: Executed with a robust high saber grind and deep fullers, this 5160 talon-like Hawkbill blade is a powerful tool for clearing, chopping, splitting, batoning and makes a devastating defensive tool. Durable and non-reflective, poly-ceramic Cerakote enhances corrosion resistance and allows for discreet use. The blade takes a razor sharp edge with ease and offers excellent utility in the field. A partially serrated section makes quick work of tough, fibrous materials. A saw back spine extends utility while the forward section is left flat for batoning. Four holes a provided in the ricasso for multiple lashing options.

Handle: Attached to the full tang of the blade with coated stainless steel hardware, the composite handle scales are contoured for comfort with milled texture for a secure grip in the most adverse conditions. A pronounced dual guard pairs with a generous palm swell to deliver optimal control and comfort during long use. A bird's beak pommel facilitates more effective chopping with minimal fatigue. An exposed pommel end can be used for striking or prying and is milled with a hole for lanyard attachment.

Carries via the included injection molded sheath with MOLLE compatible nylon.

5160 Carbon Spring Steel: 5160 Alloy Steel, also sold as AISI 5160, is a high carbon and chromium spring steel. It offers excellent toughness and high ductility. 5160 is commonly used in the automotive industry in heavy spring applications, especially for leaf springs. Chromium is added to increase hardening response and performs well in a wide range of Rockwell hardness. It can be hardened up near the 60s for knives needing more edge holding.
