Byrd Cara Cara 2 Emerson Wave Lightweight Black FRN Plain Satin Edge 03PBK2W
The Cara Cara 2 Emerson Wave from Byrd Knife is a full size tool for everything from standard daily tasks to heavier tactical use, benefiting from the addition to the Emerson Wave feature for ultra-fast, one hand opening. Its bi-directional textured black FRN handle is substantial and strong for durability no matter the hand size, gloved or otherwise. This version comes in black fiberglass-reinforced nylon with a satin plain cutting edge blade and is fully ambidextrous.
Brand new, direct from Byrd and Spyderco Knives.
Blade: Nearly 3.25 inches (8.26 cm) of razor sharp cutting edge allow the Cara Cara 2 to handle almost any task. Satin finished and fully flat ground, the leaf shaped blade comes to a piercing point. This blade is a super slicer for tough tasks and food prep. A comet shaped hole opener makes for easy one hand opening with smooth bronze washer action or use the Emerson Wave feature to deploy the blade when drawing from the pocket. Both methods are fully ambidextrous.
Handle: Durable FRN handle is finely textured in a black colorway and smoothed around the edges for a comfortable grip. It has a forward choil for choking up on finer cutting tasks with Torx construction. Inset skeletonized steel liners add support for no-flex gripping. A super strong lock back mechanism keeps the blade in place while you work.
Includes a silver stainless steel pocket clip that can be attached in any of the four pre-drilled positions creating absolutely ambidextrous carry.
8Cr13MoV: Similar to Japanese AUS-8, 8Cr13MoV is a low carbon, high chromium stainless steel with an excellent balance of toughness and strength. It offers good corrosion resistance and is capable of acquiring a razor sharp edge. Edge holding is significantly lower than S30V but close to 440C. Sharpening should be a breeze.
