Byrd Crossbill Stainless Steel Hollow Ground Part Serrated Edge 07PS
The Crossbill from Byrd Knife is a comfortable medium to large size folder built entirely from stainless steel for optimum durability and toughness. Its striking good looks feature a hollow/upper swedge ground piercing hawkbill partially serrated blade and vented/finger gripped handle.
Brand new product direct from Byrd and Spyderco Knives.
The Blade: The hawkbill profile is hollow-ground for optimal cutting performance originally intended for the marine industry such as cutting rope, line, webbing and netting. The shape holds these items keeping them from slipping off the tip while working. It offers nearly 3.2 inches of part serrated operating room sponsored by a wicked looking faux upper swedge grind. The comet shaped hole opener makes for easy one hand, left or right, opening with smooth bronze washer action. The satin finish is classic and will develop its own unique look over time.
The Handle: Heavy duty stainless steel is contoured and smoothed around the edges for a comfortable grip. It has a couple finger grooves choking up on finer cutting tasks with no-exposed hardware construction. Fully satin finished to match the blade creating a sleak carry. A super strong lock back mechanism keeps the blade in place while you work.
Includes a slotted stainless steel pocket clip that can be attached in one of the two pre-drilled positions.
8Cr13MoV: Similar to Japanese AUS-8, 8Cr13MoV is a low carbon, high chromium stainless steel with an excellent balance of toughness and strength. It offers good corrosion resistance and is capable of acquiring a razor sharp edge. Edge holding is significantly lower than S30V but close to 440C. Sharpening should be a breeze.
