Brand new, direct from Byrd Knives by Spyderco.
Blade: Just under 3 inches of razor sharp, partially serrated cutting edge are provided on the flat ground blade to handle all but the most extreme cutting tasks. SpyderEdge serrations deliver up to 24% more cutting surface and make short work of tough, fibrous materials. With a leaf-spear profile, the blade is utilitarian and functional for a variety of tasks from breaking down boxes to food prep. A comet shaped hole opener makes for easy and ambidextrous, one-hand operation with smooth bronze washer action. The fine satin finish is stylish and functional, enhancing slicing performance.
Handle: Pinned stainless steel handles are thin yet hefty and chamfered for comfort with a handsome satin finish that hides the flush ground pins. The sturdy mid-back lock is robust and reliable with a Boye dent for added safety while still providing for easy one-hand operation. Paired with the Round Hole and reversible clip the back lock makes this knife a perfect choice for right or left-handed users.
Carries via a 4-position, stainless steel hour-glass pocket clip with through lanyard hole.8Cr13MoV: Similar to Japanese AUS-8, 8Cr13MoV is a low carbon, high chromium stainless steel with an excellent balance of toughness and strength. It offers good corrosion resistance and is capable of acquiring a razor sharp edge. Edge holding is significantly lower than S30V but close to 440C. Sharpening should be a breeze.
