The covers are fitted with brass pins to brass liners with the Case Oval Scrip shield. The sturdy back springs offer simple, smooth slip joint operation for use.
Case Chrome Vanadium: CV or Chrome Vanadium is Case Knives carbon steel offering. Based in simple carbon steel (1086 or 1095) with small amounts of Chrome and Vanadium added for grain refinement and better hardening response. CV steel has low abrasive wear due to low carbide content but is very tough and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
