Details
The BackPocket is a newer member of the Case family. A cross between a Folding Hunter and a large single blade Trapper, the BackPocket is big enough to do anything with a slim, pocket friendly footprint. The “barehead” moniker reference the traditional American feature of no bolster at the cap end. This version comes with a Tru-Sharp stainless-steel blade and Sawcut Jig, Amber Bone covers.
Brand new, direct from W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Co.
Blade: This folder features a single full-size skinner blade in satin finished Tru-Sharp stainless-steel. The blade has a flat grind for solid performance and durability and open smoothly via the nail nick with a half stop slip joint operation.
Handle: Polished nickel silver bolsters top the Sawcut Jig Amber Bone covers for a rustic look and feel. Brass liners house the blade and spring, which delivers snappy slip joint operation. The handle front sports a polished Bombshell shield.
Case Tru-Sharp: Case Tru-Sharp is another name for 420HC, a stainless steel that provides excellent rust resistance, ease of re-sharpening and moderate edge retention while being exceptionally tough for a stainless steel. With appropriate heat treatment, it is said to preform similarly to VG-10 in wear resistance.
