Details
One of the original patterns produced with the establishment of the Case factory in Pennsylvania, the Saddlehorn takes its name from its resemblance to the saddle horn on a riding saddle. Framed between two sets of polished bolsters, you will find durable and stylish black and red Micarta covers for the traditional handle with two flat ground polished stainless steel blades, one clip point and one skinner.
Brand new directly from W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company, USA.
Blades: Finished in a handsome satin polish the blades are flat ground for added strength. Opening with a solid half stop with classic nail nicks, the skinner blade has an up swept tip and plenty of slicing belly, while the timeless clip point has long been the choice for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts.
Handle: Traditional brass liner and pin construction houses dual back springs for the two blades while supporting the polished bolsters and handsome layered Micarta. The Micarta is finished with a subdued polish that brings out the texture of the material while retaining some subtle traction.
Tru-Sharp: Case Tru-Sharp is an alias for 420HC, a stainless steel that provides excellent corrosion resistance, ease of sharpening and moderate edge retention while being exceptionally tough for a stainless steel. With appropriate heat treatment, it is said to preform similarly to VG10 in wear resistance.
