Cold Steel AD-15 Lite Demko Scorpion Lock AUS-10A Black Griv-Ex Folder 58SQL

Based on Andrew Demko's patented original design, the full production AD-15 from Cold Steel is an innovative, ergonomic and user-friendly tactical folder utilizing Demko's Scorpion Lock. Ambidextrous and one-hand operation make this a versatile folder while the saber ground spear point blade and Scorpion Lock construction deliver unfailing performance. This Lite version comes with black Griv-Ex polymer scales and a satin finished AUS-10A stainless steel blade.

Blade: The blade of the AD-15 is made from satin finished AUS-10A and equipped with a saber grind that optimizes strength while delivering solid slicing performance thanks to the tall blade height. The drop point blade has a false edge upper swedge running almost the full length of the blade for enhanced piercing. Operation is ambidextrous thanks to the dual thumb studs.

Handle: The frame is constructed with stainless steel liners supporting high traction, lightweight, injection molded Griv-Ex polymer scales for reduced cost and weight with solid performance. The upper portion of the handle, or the yoke, forms the Scorpion Lock, black hard anodized, 3D-machined 6061 billet aluminum that includes an integral back spacer concealing a strong compression spring. Operation is simple: push the thumb stud to overcome the tension of the lock to open and to close simply lift the bar out of the blade tang and close. Once you get the feel of it one-hand operation is smooth and easy. When open the lock is supported by the strength of the users grip making it essentially unsusceptible to failure.

Carries via reversible, tip-up only stainless steel pocket clip.

Japanese AUS-10 Stainless Steel: Similar to AISI 440C, AUS10 offers excellent corrosion resistance, good edge retention and easy sharpening. For AUS-10A the "A" at the end indicates the steel is annealed after the rolling which does not affect the blade performance.
