Inspired by the classic Scottish sgian-dubh (pronounced skee-ən-DOO) the Hold Out from Cold Steel is a compact and modern design that is easy to carry thanks to the ultra slim design while still being robust for a blade you can count on. This massive 6 inch version comes with a satin finished S35VN plain edge blade, black G10 handle scales and the Tri-Ad back lock.

Blade: Full flat ground for excellent slicing performance the satin finished S35VN drop point blade tapers to a fine piercing point while retaining good thickness near the pivot for durability. Jimping on the spine transitions to the handle for traction and security in hand, with a generous ricasso for added safety. The blade opens smoothly via the ambidextrous dual thumb studs. Cold Steel has delivered this design in their trademark "INSANELY HUGE" style with a nearly 6" long, 3.8 mm thick blade.

Handle: Textured black G10 scales house the blade and robust Tri-Ad back lock delivering a slim handle and rock solid security in use. A subtle taper toward the pommel locks the knife in the hand, while milled holes reduce weight and increase traction. Jimping top and bottom help with indexing. At just under 7.5 inches, the handle is large enough to accommodate the largest of gloved hands...maybe even two!

Carries via a reversible, tip-up, stainless steel pocket clip.

CPM-S35VN: A modified version of S30V designed for improved toughness over and easier machining and polish. Toughness is improved roughly 15-20%, with a slight decrease in wear resistance (edge retention). Corrosion resistance is also lightly higher, close to AISI 420. S35VN is a well-balanced steel for daily use.

Tri-Ad Lock: The Tri-Ad lock system functions like any back lock: pushing down on a lock bar spring in the handle releases the blade. It differs by adding a stop pin between the blade tang and lock bar. This pin handles any pressure put on the knife and allows the spring to self adjust over time, resulting in a rock solid lock that can handle an absurd amount of weight in lock strength tests.
