The design of the Talwar was inspired by the Indo-Persian sword of the same name and is a powerful folding knife in the Cold Steel lineup. The wide, trailing point blade folds neatly into the handle for a slim carry profile. Open the blade with the innovative Demko thumb plate to access over 5 inches of razor sharp cutting edge paired with a secure, ergonomic handle. This 5.5 inch version comes with a satin finished S35VN plain edge blade, black G10 handle scales and the Tri-Ad back lock.

Blade: Full flat ground for excellent slicing performance the satin finished S35VN trailing point blade tapers to a fine piercing point with a spine swedge for aesthetic appeal. Over 5 inches of razor sharp cutting edge, you have plenty of blade length to handle any task from utility to defense with a 3.8 mm stock for solid durability. One hand operation is easy thanks to the ambidextrous Demko thumb plate, which can also be used for on-the-draw deployment when the seconds count.

Handle: Coarse black G10 scales house the blade and robust Tri-Ad back lock for a slim yet robust handle that is designed with a prominent forward guard, bird's head pommel, and finger grooves for a solid and secure grip in even the largest hands. Chamfered edges enhance comfort with a jimped thumb ramp for added traction. Despite the large size the knife carries slim in the pocket. The mid-back Tri-Ad lock is exceptional strong for secure use while being easy to operate with one hand. A hole is provided for lanyard attachment.

Carries via a reversible, tip-up, stainless steel pocket clip.

CPM-S35VN: A modified version of S30V designed for improved toughness over and easier machining and polish. Toughness is improved roughly 15-20%, with a slight decrease in wear resistance (edge retention). Corrosion resistance is also lightly higher, close to AISI 420. S35VN is a well-balanced steel for daily use.

Tri-Ad Lock: The Tri-Ad lock system functions like any back lock: pushing down on a lock bar spring in the handle releases the blade. It differs by adding a stop pin between the blade tang and lock bar. This pin handles any pressure put on the knife and allows the spring to self adjust over time, resulting in a rock solid lock that can handle an absurd amount of weight in lock strength tests.
