Joe Flowers of Bushcraft Global is an avid bushcraft and survival instructor who knows a few things about knife design. Flowers has lent his expertise to a number of blades from Condor Tool & Knife, including the Gryphus Bowie, a tactical fixed blade inspired by the iconic Spanish Navaja. Made from 1075 carbon steel and black canvas Micarta, the Gryphus Bowie is a force to be reckoned with.

Blade: The broad clip point blade comes with a high saber grind and pronounced swedge delivering solid performance in a variety of tasks. Made from full tang 1075 carbon steel, the blade has an etched pattern on the flats with satin finished spine and grinds. Despite the tactical inspiration, this Bowie is a multipurpose tool suited to heavy cutting tasks, chopping, skinning, woodcraft and martial use.

Handle: Dual steel pins attach the blasted and contoured canvas Micarta scales to the full tang for a comfortable, high traction handle perfect for bushcraft, survival or tactical use. The palm swell fills the hand nicely while a forward guard gives added safety and the flat steel pommel end lends balance and added utility for hammering.

Carries via a molded Kydex sheath with leather belt loop and strap.

1075 Carbon Steel: A simple carbon steel used by production and custom knife makers. Low wear resistance (edge retention) due to low carbide content. Good toughness at lower hardness and easy to sharpen to a fine edge. Good performance when properly heat treated. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
